VAISHALI SHAH

'I’ve always been a creative person, and it was my mum who ensured I made the best of my creativity, be it with dance or henna. The first time I ever had mehndi done was at my cousins wedding, and I had no idea what it was. I didn’t want the design to go away so I refused to have a bath! Since then my mum would make the paste for me and at first I used to play around with matchsticks, and then the henna cone but it was only two years ago that

I felt I was at an acceptable stage and gradually, I got better.I had seen Mr. Kumar’s work and seen him work numerous times at different exhibitions and so I decided I wanted to do the course.

Henna is more than a job for me, it’s my passion and it’s an art that will never become outdated or out of fashion. Mr. K’s henna is a trendsetter and I love that I’ve been taught by his academy. Starting university next year will be a different experience and my henna skills will really help me financially. The Ash Kumar team have been fantastic, and have been extremely helpful even after I graduated. I would love to be a part of the AK team one day, it’s an opportunity that does require hard work, but is so rewarding and you can’t go wrong! I personally thank Mr. K for constructing the henna course and giving henna artists structure, and for your wholehearted attention and support! I hope to continue my hard work and dedication to bring the best out of my art.
